Army Snow Sports 2014 – Good Luck and Go Army!

The slopes around Perisher are about to become the home for a few lucky Army folk participating the Australian Army Alpine Snowsports Association (AAASA) Championship. Good luck to all involved and “Go Army!”

Ironside is proud to continue our support of the Australian Army Alpine Snowsports Association (AAASA) Championship through our sponsorship of this event.  Ironside has been a committed sponsor since 2011 and we are looking forward to again working with AAASA in support of the Army Alpine Snowsports athletes.  Ironside also welcomes two key clients: Northrop Consulting Engineers and Environmental Fluid Systems, as first time sponsors and thanks them for their generous participation and support.

AAASA is now all geared up for the launch of the annual downhill racing Championship event at Perisher, where Army Skiers and Snowboarders come together for a week of intense training, challenge and competition.  The weeklong event is open to all Army members and doesn’t call for advanced skiing or snowboarding abilities or any racing experience.  The Championship offers participants the excitement of Alpine racing and focuses on developing and refining skills on the slopes.

At the end of the week, top performers are selected to represent Army in the Australian Defence Alpine Snowsports Association (ADASA) Championships, where they compete against members of Navy and Airforce for top billing and the opportunity to represent Defence Australia in the International Alpine Championships in Europe.

Besides the racing action the week long event also provides for a rare networking opportunity by bringing together a diverse array of Army personnel of all ranks, from units all around the country. Through our ongoing support of the event, Ironside is able to offer its clients the opportunity to get involved and engage with Army end users, key influencers and decisions makers in the same place at the same time under an informal atmosphere.

In addition to networking opportunities the sponsorship also includes opportunities for clients to conduct branding and awareness activity. Both Northrop and Environmental Fluid systems will have signage on the race course as well as branded official merchandise, which will be distributed to participants throughout the week.

The AASA Championships is a valuable and highly anticipated annual event in the Australian Army Sports calendar that is open and accessible to every member of Army across age, gender, rank and location.  The event also welcomes participation from every skill level as training and development are key objectives of the Championships –  which not only seek to uncover Army’s stars of the slopes but to give our dedicated Australian Army members the opportunity to find their own best form.

The Australian Army Snowsports Association Championships will be held at Perisher on the 7th – 10th July 2014.
